Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 23, 2026
Caddio ("Caddio," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by CADDIO LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have about your data when you use the Caddio mobile application. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at tony@caddio.app.
Who this policy applies to
Caddio is intended for users 17 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn we have collected information from a user under 17, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a person under 17 has provided us information, please contact us at tony@caddio.app.
Information we collect
Account and sign-in
You sign in with Apple or Google. We do not offer email-and-password sign-in. When you sign in, we receive:
Your email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive Apple's private relay address instead of your real one.
A unique account identifier.
Your name, if your sign-in provider shares it (optional, and only on first sign-in with Apple).
Profile details
When you set up and use Caddio, we collect and store the following profile information on our servers:
Your handicap (or a note that you don't have one yet)
The metrics you care about most
Your data-detail preference (how much numerical detail you want to see)
Your display name
Your simulator hardware and software
Where you typically play
Your units (yards or meters) and handedness
A note on onboarding: the questions we ask during onboarding (handicap, metrics, data preference) are held only on your device during onboarding and are saved to our servers when you start your subscription. If you do not complete onboarding, those answers are not stored on our servers.
Golf and practice data
Shot data. The numerical data from your practice sessions (such as carry, ball speed, smash factor, spin, club path, and similar metrics) is stored on our servers.
Screenshots you upload. When you upload a launch monitor or simulator screenshot, the image is stored in our cloud storage, and the data extracted from it is stored in our database. We also store the full response from our AI provider for that image.
Caddie chat
When you use the Caddie chat feature, the messages you send and the responses generated are stored in our database. Your messages are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses.
Crash and error data
To keep the app stable and fix problems, we use Sentry, a crash-reporting service. When the app encounters an error or crashes, Sentry collects the error details, your device model, operating system version, app version, and your device's IP address. This helps us diagnose and fix bugs. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
Permissions we request
Caddio requests only two device permissions, and only when you use the related feature:
Camera — to capture a photo of your simulator screen so we can read your shot data.
Photo library — to let you pick a saved screenshot to upload.
We do not request location, microphone, notifications, contacts, or any tracking permission. You will never see an "Allow Caddio to track you" prompt, because Caddio does not track you.
Information we do not collect
Payment card details. All billing is handled by Apple. Caddio never sees your card.
Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking signals.
Your precise or approximate location.
Health, contacts, calendar, or biometric data
How we use your information
We use your information to:
Create and maintain your account
Read your uploaded screenshots and turn them into structured shot data
Generate your practice insights, caddie observations, and chat responses
Personalize what you see based on your profile and preferences
Operate, maintain, and improve the app
Diagnose crashes and fix bugs
Process your subscription and verify your access
Communicate with you about your account or support requests
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers we need to run Caddio. Each receives only what it needs.
Supabase — our backend (database, file storage, authentication, and server functions), hosted in the United States (us-east-2 region). Stores your profile details, golf and shot data, chat history, uploaded screenshots, and account records.
Anthropic (Claude) — generates your insights, caddie observations, chat responses, and reads your uploaded screenshots. Anthropic receives your uploaded screenshots, your computed golf metrics, and the chat messages you type. Anthropic does not receive your email, your name, or your account identifier; we remove those before sending. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and retains API data for a limited period (up to 30 days) for safety and abuse-monitoring purposes.
Sentry — crash reporting. Receives error reports including device model, operating system version, app version, and IP address when the app crashes or hits an error. Used only to diagnose and fix bugs. Never used for advertising or tracking. Sentry retains this data for up to 90 days.
RevenueCat — manages your subscription and verifies your access. Receives a device identifier linked to your account, your subscription status, and purchase events. Does not receive your name, email, or card details.
Apple — handles all subscription billing through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; Caddio never sees your card.
Apple and Google — handle sign-in. We receive a sign-in token and your email (and name, if shared) from whichever provider you use.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition).
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. We do not currently delete uploaded screenshots, shot data, chat history, or insights on a schedule; they remain until you delete your account.
When you delete your account (see Section 6), we delete your profile, golf and shot data, chat history, insights, and uploaded screenshots from our systems.
Some data is retained outside that deletion:
Crash and error reports collected by Sentry are retained for up to 90 days, then automatically deleted.
Your subscription record with Apple and RevenueCat is not deleted by account deletion. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription or stop billing. To stop charges, cancel your subscription in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
Your choices and rights
Access and update. You can view and update your profile details inside the app.
Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. This removes your account and associated data as described in Section 5. It cannot be undone.
Cancel your subscription. Manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Remember that deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability). To make a request, contact us at the address in Section 11.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to:
Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it
Request access to or deletion of your personal information
Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 11. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app.
International users
Caddio is operated from the United States and is intended for users in the United States. Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you use Caddio from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country, and you consent to that processing.
Data security
We use reputable service providers and standard security practices to protect your data, including access controls that restrict your data to your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Caddio is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a person under 17 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated in the app.
